It is mainly reflected in:

1. The enterprise scale is small and the industrial concentration is low

at present, there are about 1500 metal packaging enterprises in China, with an annual consumption of nearly 1.45 million tons of tinplate. Among them, there are less than 60 enterprises with more than 10000 tons, accounting for only 4%, and the average annual consumption of each enterprise is only 1200 tons of tinplate. Such as the largest COFCO packaging (Hangzhou COFCO Meite, Wuxi Huapeng bottle cap, Guangzhou Panyu Meite: the annual consumption of tinplate is only 75000 tons, with an output and sales of 800million yuan, which is far from that of developed countries. In addition, enterprises have not yet got rid of the situation of high input, high consumption, high pollution, low output and extensive management. For example, for metal printing products, most foreign countries have popularized UV multi-color continuous high-speed 5. Regularly check the transmission of sprocket, while domestic iron printing still stays in monochrome, two-color The traditional iron printing method of oil and gas drying room is inefficient, high consumption, environmental pollution, and has remained unchanged for decades. Compared with the current development requirements of "digital networking before printing, continuous and efficient printing of multicolor, and diversified automation after printing" in the field of international iron printing, it is obviously backward and lacks the advantage of international competition. In terms of barrel making, foreign countries have popularized ultra-thin iron cans, micro winding technology, special-shaped cans, flexible production schemes, etc. The wall thickness of can making is reduced to 0.07 ~ 0.13MM, which greatly saves materials and reduces resource consumption, changes the old face of a single cylindrical tank, and develops fashionable and diverse shaped tanks. However, most of the tinplate cans with a diameter of more than 0.20mm are still used in China, and the development of special-shaped cans is still in the stage of research and development and market test, which is relatively backward

2. There is a serious overcapacity of general products, and the production capacity of high-quality and high-end products is obviously insufficient.

at present, there are 26 production lines of two-piece cans in China, with an annual processing capacity of 11billion, while the actual demand is only 7billion, and the construction is insufficient; There are more than 200 production lines for three piece cans, with a speed of 400 ~ 1200 cans per minute. The comprehensive production capacity is 25billion cans per year, while the actual demand is only 8billion, and the supply-demand ratio is 3:1; There are nearly 300 crown cover equipment, half of which are imported and half of which are domestic. The speed is 110000, 140000 and 27000 hours respectively. The total annual production capacity reaches 75billion, while the actual demand is only 40billion, and the supply-demand ratio is 2:1. Only these three items show the severity of excess production capacity and repeated investment of general products. But on the other hand, there are too few enterprises that can produce small capacity, ultra-thin cans, self heating and self cooling cans, various special-shaped cans and boutique cans suitable for supermarket shelf effects. The shape of cans is single and unchanged for decades, which is difficult to meet the requirements of packaging fashion development, and restricts the development of metal packaging industry

3. The ability of independent innovation is insufficient, and advanced equipment is impacted and restrained by multinational companies.

since the 1990s, the metal packaging industry has developed vigorously, and a large number of foreign advanced production lines have been introduced. However, the domestic R & D capacity is insufficient, and most advanced can making enterprises can only rely on imports for their main iron printing and can making equipment, such as high-speed resistance welding machines and leak detectors for can making, easy pull cap crown cap production lines, iron printing equipment, etc., which are controlled by foreign enterprises. Substantial progress has been made in the localization of metal packaging materials, such as tinplate. Baosteel has developed tinplate and tinplate that can meet the requirements of domestic can making, reaching 54000 US dollars, and has been recognized by the market. However, the total amount can not keep up with the development needs of the metal packaging industry, and the domestic capacity only accounts for one third of the national demand, and the remaining two thirds need to be imported from abroad; Aluminum materials for high-speed two-piece cans still need to be imported up to US $300million a year. At present, the main metal packaging equipment in the world is developing in the direction of digitalization, networking, high-speed and low consumption, and more environmental protection and humanization. The equipment level has been raised to a new level, and the gap between China and foreign countries that has been narrowed is widening

4. The degree of enterprise informatization is low, and there is a serious shortage of packaging management and technical personnel.

on the whole, the quality of senior management and staff in China's metal packaging industry is generally lower than that in other industries. The shortage of talents restricts the further development of the metal packaging industry, unable to track the world's advanced technology, and the ability to develop and innovate independent advanced technology and products is seriously insufficient

the above problems have seriously restricted the sustainable development and competitiveness of the metal packaging industry, and also affected the sustained, rapid, coordinated and healthy development of related industries. The lagging development of the metal packaging industry and the slow improvement of the overall level will definitely restrict the development of the whole economy. Therefore, we must take effective measures to build a modern metal packaging industry with high scientific and technological content, good economic benefits, low resource consumption, less environmental pollution and full play of human resources, so that China can move from the current large metal packaging country to a powerful metal packaging country
